Languedoc Roussillon

The Languedoc-Rousillon is perhaps the most popular destination for tourists in France.  It hosts a plethura of attractions both local and ones significant enough to attract UN World Heritage status.

Additionally it has perhaps the most idylic weather in the whole of France with more days of sunshine than anywhere else in France.  The long warm summers and mild winters ensure lots of outdoor activities.

Despite these factors the Languedoc-Rousillon is still relatively sparsely populated so that even in the peak of the summer when visitors greatly boost the population there is a great feeling of space and openess.
